The publication of this book, by Maison Nicéphore Niépce with Spéos collaboration was made in December 5, 2003.
1600 pages A4 format, about 700 genuine documents of which half is unpublished, covering from 1761 to 1842, allow to recreate the whole of Niépce's life and his family.
Each document is transcribed in extenso and argumented by foot-notes that help the reading.
The book is in French only.

These camerae obscurae,made of walnut wood with the lens mount in copper,manufactured by the artisans of Saint-Loup-de-Varennes,as in Niépce’s time,are the exact replicas of those used by Niépce from 1816 to 1824.

Cube shaped,they exist in two formats :
    - 16,2 cm (6 Paris inches*) by side
    - 10,8 cm (4 Paris inches*) by side

*The Paris inch was equivalent to 27 mm
