Niépce's House presents the book "Niépce, correspondance et papiers", by Manuel Bonnet and Jean-Louis Marignier.
The publication of this book, by Maison Nicéphore Niépce with Spéos collaboration was made in December 5, 2003.

Sample of the book

1600 pages A4 format, about 700 genuine documents of which half is unpublished, covering from 1761 to 1842, allow to recreate the whole of Niépce's life and his family.
Each document is transcribed in extenso and argumented by foot-notes that help the reading.
The book is in French only.

> During Patrimony Days, 2002 and 2003, J.L.Marignier presented the computer data base he created holding Niépce’s correspondance, which allows an especially adapted search engine to answer all sorts of questions for which the computer selects the corresponding letters .
Besides operating as a document archive, this data base allows users to do research from criteria such as words from the text , dates , author , recipients (in case of a letter), key words, and the present owner of the document (private collection, public archives and so on) ,with the possibility of using several criteria at once. This powerful tool will soon be available to researchers .
